We speak so much about flourishing in our purpose. However, we are not very candid about the hardships we endure in the process of walking in our purpose. During the times I felt I was not yet fully flourishing in my purpose, I was always at a point where I was sure I was where God had called me to be at that moment. My journey has been no walk in the park, and every other week I get the desire to want to throw in the towel. What keeps me fueled is knowing that what I am doing isn’t just for me. If I lack the motivation to continue, if I give up right here, right now today I am not only giving up on myself but everyone who believes in me, I have chosen to give up on everyone who seeks comfort in my words.
We often find ourselves in a state of confusion or disarray when the process to get to where we desire to go looks nothing like we imagined. We are usually surprised that this world is a cruel place and can very often be terrible to us. What we tend to forget is, God is always with us and will never forsake us. Our process is meant to strengthen us, and because of this, there will still be hardships. There will be times we question the road we are on. There will be times when we are disappointed by the people we loved and thought we could trust. The process is meant to mold us into who we need to be to be prepared to receive all that we have prayed for. Nobody said it would be easy. How will you find courage without enduring anything? How will one learn the lengths that they can go or what they can survive without experience? How will one ever elevate without trusting the process? Here are a few things to remember when it comes to believing the process of your life.
Your past will put fear into your heart. Thinking of all the poor decisions you once made that caused you to come up short will have you questioning the idea of moving forward. Your resilience is what will get you to the next level. Ignore what you’ve done and where you’ve been to keep pressing ahead.
Break Out Of Fear:
It’s so much easier said than done, isn’t it? But to be resilient one must learn to be fearless. Our actions are all a product of our thoughts. Our refusal to move or act on something is an apparent refusal to face our fears head-on. Fear is a product of your inability to trust yourself. Tame your conscience, face your fears to achieve the great things that lie ahead for you.
Don’t Compare Your Right Now:
The great thing about life is that all of our processes develop in different stages. What you are called to do may differ from someone else. Your contribution to change the world may be entirely different from the next person. Where we often fail is we are stuck in a state of comparison. Desperately wanting to be where someone else is not knowing what it took for them to get there. We have to trust the timing of our journey. Concentrate on YOUR right now!
“When you’re standing still in an uncomfortable place, trust that God is not yet ready to move on your behalf.” – Unknown
Be A Servant:
God tells us: “Give unto to others, and it shall be given to you, again.” Some of us our servants in the form of charity. Some of us our servants in the way of our words inspiring and healing others. Regardless of how you serve, your purpose will always involve you serving helping God and your brothers and sisters. If you’re on a path that is selfishly serving you and your needs only, I would strongly consider making a detour.
Develop A Strong Sense of Faith and Trust:
Faith along with Trust go hand in hand. You absolutely cannot have one without the other. Before I put my full trust in God's plan for my life, I always lacked peace. Before I had faith in my future, I lacked perseverance. When we entertain our doubts, it is an underhanded way of insulting God. Every day I challenge you to work on the development of your trust and faith.
Enjoy The Process:
Live in the moments. So often we get caught up in where we dream to be that we neglect where we are. It's easy to live in negativity not realizing the blessings of right now. Don't overlook the present trying to live for the future. Life is always speaking to you. Discover yourself, live in the moments while never entertaining the word regret!
Be Inspired. Be Encouraged. Be Blessed.
A passage from a previous post, Intention Breeds Passion:
“This is why it is so important to find a passion for the things that you do. Before you know it, you’re jumping from thing to thing calling it your purpose, but you are so eager for results that you can’t sit still long enough to see if what you’re investing in is really for you. Think about all of the things you’ve given up on in life because it wasn’t what you thought it would be when you expected it to be. Whatever came to mind, you weren’t passionate about it. No matter what I thought to do, how many ideas formulated I always came to my senses and knew to stick to what I know. I’ve always stayed down with what I am passionate about. I understand that this one great gift will lead to a multitude of many other things as long as I stay focused and master it. I wanted to be committed to something real, something that not just served my soul, but the souls of people across the globe. When we are in search of material gain, financial gain, accolades and status we lose sight of what we are working toward. We are eager to reach some superficial goal instead of being content, being passionate and living in life’s greatest moments while doing what we love. My only advice to you is to be intentional about life. Be so got damn passionate you make other people passionate. Don’t just seek what can be replaced. Seek what will forever be embedded in your heart, mind, and soul. Seek the shit that you can create, but you or others can’t live without. Create a legacy, build a vision on a solid foundation so it will forever stand tall.”
